Meals in Miami

De nuevo. Cuando alguien viaja a Miami, o cualquier otro sitio, llueven, por suerte, las recomendaciones de restaurantes. Así que estas son mis tres propuestas, basadas no tanto en la comida, que es absolutamente correcta aun sencilla, sino en los locales:

Hillstone - Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne - Hotel Biltmore - Hotel Delano

Once again. Whenever you travel to Miami, or anywhere, you receive a lot of good restaurant recommendations. So these are my three suggestions, based not so in the food, although it is great and simple, but in the stores:

Hillstone - Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne 

Empecemos por Hillstone. Está en una buena zona, Coral Gables. Comida japonesa y americana, sin faltar el key lime pie. El local, de estética algo setentera, tiene dos ambientes: una zona de barra y otra de mesas. Lamentablemente no reservan, así que en todas las ocasiones que fui, tuve que sentarme en la barra, pues no estaba dispuesta a largas esperas. Una curiosidad es que, en la zona de la cocina que está a la vista, donde preparan japo, tiene un espejo en el techo, en diagonal, para que puedas ver como preparan los platos.

El sitio es francamente divertido, gente local, y comida muy apetitosa.

 

Let's start with Hillstone. It is in a good neighbourhood, Coral Gables. Japanese and american food, and of course key lime pie. The store, some kind of seventie's mood, has two different áreas, the bar and the tables zone. Unfortunately, booking is not admitted, so I only went to the bar zone, as I was not going to wait for. Some curiosity is that in the open kitchen where japanese food is prepared, a mirror on the ceiling let you see how they do it.

Honestly, the place is fun, local people, and appetizing food. 

El Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. La vista es espectacular, delante del océano, relajante todo, piscina incluida. Ofrecen una carta suficiente, inspirada en comida mejicana. Allí fue donde por primera vez vi que sirven agua con sabor a frutas, pues el calor, sobre todo en verano, es tan sofocante que necesitas hidratación.

The Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. Amazing view, just in front of the ocean, everyhing sounds relaxing, swimming pool included. Menu is enough, inspired in mexican food. I saw, for fisrt time, fruit tasting water, necessary to fight against hard heat, mostly in summer time.

Hotel Biltmore. Tiene diferentes restaurantes, de mayor a menor lujo. Yo fui al más sencillo, para poder comer algo rápido, y estoy segura que los otros deben ser estupendos. Comparten, claro está, la ubicación en el campo de golf y comer enfrente de la piscina, dicen, más grande de Florida.

Hotel Biltmore. It has different restaurants, from high to low luxury. I went to the simplest, for a rush meal, and I am sure the rest must be also great. They share its ubication in the golf club, as well as eating next to the biggest swimming pool in Florida, it is said.

Otro sitio, bonito, que me quedé con ganas de probar, fue el Hotel Delano, en Miami Beach. Sin duda vale la pena ir a verlo, y si puedes, comer algo en una de sus terrazas. Pendiente para la próxima ocasión.

Lastly, there is a really nice place to be, Hotel Delano, in Miami Beach. It is really worthy to go and see, and have a meal in one of its terraces. Next time, I will do.
